Established in 1966, the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) is the premier national society representing engineers across all disciplines. Serving as the primary focal point for the local engineering community, IES proudly acts as Singapore’s voice on global engineering platforms, fostering international collaboration while advancing the art, science, and practice of engineering nationwide.

IES is dedicated to driving professional growth, technical excellence, and ethical integrity. Through robust advocacy, valuable networking opportunities, and recognised professional accreditations, IES ensures its members maintain high standards of practice. To encourage continuous lifelong learning, the IES Academy plays a vital role in upgrading and upskilling practitioners, delivering specialised training programmes, professional certifications, and technical workshops tailored to evolving industry needs across all engineering disciplines.

Furthermore, IES is deeply instrumental in shaping Singapore’s physical and technological landscape. Through major conferences, technical seminars, and authoritative publications, the Institution contributes directly to national infrastructure development and technological advancement. By championing innovation, technical rigor, and sustainable practices, IES empowers engineers to remain at the forefront of national progress, ensuring the engineering profession continues to enhance quality of life and secure Singapore’s resilient future.

Established as the Singapore Freight Forwarders Association in 1973, the association was renamed Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) in 1999 to reflect the growth and wide-ranging activities of its members. The association stays anchored in its mission to sustain a vibrant community through active industry participation and collaborations with both local and international partners.

In alignment with global sustainability goals, SLA supports the adoption of sustainable practices by encouraging members to explore green solutions that contribute to a more environmentally friendly sector.

To nurture a pipeline of global and future ready logistics talents for the industry, The Logistics Academy, a wholly owned subsidiary training arm of SLA was incorporated in 2010 to provide human capital and skills development courses to empower and deepen the skills of the workforce for the logistics sector.
