The SCS Skills Pathway for AI is developed with 15 founding employers across technology, government, and enterprise, and supported by 3 Professional Associations. It provides structured learning pathways to help you build AI skills valued by employers, whether you’re looking to apply AI in your current profession or pursue a career as an AI technical specialist.
The pathways were shaped by 15 founding employers to reflect real hiring needs and the AI skills employers value. The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) and Singapore Medical Association (SMA) are the professional associations that reviewed the pathways for industry relevance and help promote them across their respective professions.
There are two pathways to choose from:
AI Bilingual – For business and domain professionals who want to build AI awareness, knowledge and practical skills to use AI confidently and responsibly in their current roles, while supporting trusted AI adoption within their organisations.
AI Technical Specialist – For aspiring AI professionals, IT practitioners and career switchers who want to build technical AI skills and prepare for one of five in-demand AI technical specialist roles.
The AI Bilingual pathway is open to professionals from any industry and does not require prior IT or programming experience.
For the AI technical specialist pathway, some training courses and certifications may recommend prior IT or programming knowledge, depending on the specialist role.

The AI technical specialist pathway provides a clear roadmap to one of five in-demand specialist roles. Understand what hiring employers look for, build the technical skills and recognised certifications they value, develop a job-ready portfolio, and prepare confidently for technical interviews.
Yes. SWDA subsidies are available for eligible training courses and certification exams. The level of support depends on the course or certification, and your eligibility. Please refer to the funding section for the latest information.
